II/ By Train
– If you go to Sapa, you have to go to Tran Quy Cap station. Although the roads are convenient currently, trains only stop at Lao Cai station, you have to take the car to go to Sapa. However, we highly recommend you had better try going to Sapa by train because it is one of the most interesting experiences.
– Train has a variety of chairs such as soft chairs, air-conditioned beds, and so on. Trains start at 9 or 10 p.m and they arrive in Sapa early in the morning.
Train schedule:
The train departs from Hanoi Station at 10 p.m and arrives at Lao Cai Station at 6:30 the next morning.
The train departs from Lao Cai Station at 9:05 p.m and arrives at Hanoi Station at 5:30 a.m the next morning.
The train departs every day except Saturday.
III/ Mean of transport when visitors stay at Sapa
- Motorbike: Visitors can rent motorbike with prices ranging from 120,000 – 180,000 VNĐ per moto. You can travel around the cave and narrow alley in Sapa. However, the above rates are charged for one day ( from 6 a.m to 18 p.m). If you rent in the morning or in the evening, you will still charge the same rate ( 120,000 – 180,000 VNĐ).
- Motorbike taxi: For those who want to travel alone, the best option for them is to rent motorbike taxi. Prices will range from 100,000 to 150,000 VNĐ when visitors want to go from 4 to 5 famous places which are close to each other.
- In addition, you can also rent a taxi. However, ethnic minirity villages are often located in small roads and small paths. Therefore, you should consider this option.

V/ Some places you should go and come over to Sapa
- Ham Rong mountain:
Ham Rong mountain is located in the town center. If you want to visit here, you have to buy tickets. You need to climb hundreds of stone steps to reach Ham Rong mountain. You will admire a variety of colorful flowers especially when climbing to the top of Ham Rong mountain, you will enjoy and view the panorama of Sapa town.
- Cat Cat village:
Cat Cat village is an ancient village of the Mong people. It also preserves many traditional handicrafts such as growing cotton, flax, and weaving. Nowadays, this place has been built into the Cat Cat tourist site.

- Muong Hoa valley and Bai Da ancient stone:
The special thing in this valley is the ancient rock beach with many different engravings, lying between grass, trees, and terraced fields of ethnic minorities. Hundreds of sandstone stones are engraved with strange drawings and characters that have not determined the origin and meaning. Today, this ancient carved area has been ranked a national monument, a unique heritage of the ancient Vietnamese. In Muong Hoa valley, there is also a beautiful stream that stretches about 15km, passes through Lao Chai, Ta Van, Hau Thao communes, and ends at Ban Ho.

- Fansipan – The highest mountain in Vietnam
You can go Trekking Fansipan: follow tours of travel agencies or organize with the guidance of local Mong and Dao ethnic people on your own. On the way to the top of the mountain, visitors will discover the amazing flora, fauna, and nature. There are many Hoang Lien trees, a precious herb, precious woods, birds, and animals such as grouse, bears, monkeys, antelope, birds, and so on.

- Ban Ho village
Ban Ho village: is about 30km from Sapa town, you can go the same direction as the Lao Chai – Ta Van route, Ho village is a Tay village, with a relatively small population compared to other ethnic groups. The village is located in a small valley which is the downstream area of the Muong Hoa stream.
